Our manufacturing client in Hampton, VA, is seeking a dedicated Environmental Professional to join their local EHS team. The position requires being on-site in Hampton, VA. Relocation assistance within the US is available. This is one of over 50 current EHS positions being recruited for nationwide.
Role Overview
This role is essential for candidates looking to deliver results in an environment backed by strong leadership commitment and core EHS values. As a key member of the site team, you will support our rapid growth by driving environmental stewardship and regulatory excellence.
Minimum requirements for the position are:
• Unrestricted authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
• Ability to commute or relocate to Hampton, VA on a daily basis.
• Bachelor's Degree
• Three (3) or more years of EHS experience.
Additional preferred competencies include:
• Professional Certification (ASP, etc.)
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Culture
• Safety Culture Advocacy: Cultivate and maintain an organizational culture aligned with client EHS goals, prioritizing continuous improvement and proactive risk management.
• Personnel Management: Direct, coach, and motivate plant personnel to achieve EHS objectives through high-engagement leadership and safety-first mentoring.
• Cross-Functional Project Management: Lead multi-disciplinary teams within a high-growth environment to execute complex environmental improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Regulatory Management
• Regulatory Oversight: Manage all environmental disciplines, including Air, Wastewater, Storm Water, Chemical management, and Waste Disposal/Recycling.
• Compliance Documentation: Ensure 100% accuracy and timeliness in the filing of federal, state, and company records to demonstrate regulatory and sustainability compliance.
• Program Implementation: Drive the development and execution of EHS programs that meet or exceed local, state, and federal laws and corporate standards.
Operational Sustainability
• Process Optimization: Analyze industrial processes to identify opportunities for waste elimination and water usage reduction, directly contributing to business-unit sustainability goals.
• Management Systems: Execute environmental stewardship through robust management systems designed to guarantee long-term regulatory adherence.
• Vendor & Contractor Oversight: Provide specialized management of contractors involved in wastewater treatment and discharge programs.
Technical Training & Analysis
• Curriculum Development: Design and deliver technical EHS compliance training sessions to ensure workforce competency.
• Technical Interpretation: Read, analyze, and interpret complex EHS regulations, technical reports, and data to provide actionable insights for plant operations.
• Hands-on Monitoring: Oversee and perform physical monitoring and measurement of environmental metrics to ensure data integrity.

Salary range: $70,000 to $100,000
